Dog Behaviour Counseling

Any time the safety or well-being of either the dog or the owner is in question, a professional should be consulted to determine the best course of action.

How can dog counsellors help?

They can help create a bond between the owner and the dog which involves trust and security. They can also identify triggers associated with the unwanted behaviour.

What happens at the consultation?

A behaviour assessment would be done in advance by the owner and together with the counsellor they can determine what issues need to be addressed and create a plan of action going forward.

Will my pet insurance policy cover the cost of consultation?

Most pet insurance policies have some behaviour therapy coverage. The policyholder would have to review their individual policies for coverage.

What to expect after the consultation?

The client can expect a better understanding on how their dog might think in different situations and know how to correct the behaviour. The goal would be to make the experiences as positive as possible.
