Heartworm Season Here Again

Slowly
but surely summer has arrived in Manitoba, and so have the
mosquitos. Make sure your pet is protected against
heartworm disease starting June 1st.
What
is Heartworm Disease?
Heartworm
disease is a serious and potentially fatal condition caused by
parasitic worms living in the arteries of the lungs, and occasionally
in the right side of the heart of dogs, cats and other species of
mammals. Heartworms are classified as nematodes (roundworms) and are
filarids, one of many species of roundworms. Dogs and cats of any age
or breed are susceptible to infection. learn

BLOODhounds
aren't the only dogs who can donate!
The
Canadian Animal
Blood Bank
is the largest animal blood bank in Canada. Every unit of blood that is
collected helps up to four other dogs across Canada. They have even
sent blood as far away as the United Kingdom. Each and every day ill
and injured animals rely on transfusion therapy. Why should your dogs
become a blood donor?

Fundraiser for Canadian Animal Bloodbank a Success
Our Christmas Fundraiser turned out to be one of our best, raising
$2755 for the Canadian Animal Blood Bank. A big thank you to everyone
who came out for Santa Photos, bought cookies & bandanas, and
who entered in the silent auction. We couldn't have done it without you!

Puppy 1, Beginner, & Level I
How will you benefit from continuing your dogs education?
Our obedience classes provide an ideal setting for your dog to
meet and interact with other dogs in a controlled environment. We teach
you the skills and techiniques required to handle your dog effectively.
Essentially, we are giving you the tools to train your dog using
positive training techniques.
Obedience training is the key to an enjoyable, well-mannered
canine companion. We pride ourselves on the individual focus. We
provide each dog, handler and class:
- Individual attention modified to the pet's behavior,
mannerisms and areas of difficulty.
- Individual attention with one instructor and an assistant
for each class.
- Individual attention by keeping our classes small and
personal.
